“I got my motorbike license four years ago and I ride a Kawasaki Ninja. I’ve bee hit 4 times and been to hospital twice. It does make me nervous but it’s not me I’m worried about, it’s the other people on the road that are the worry. The five foot chicks in their four wheel drives.”

“Once I lied about my ability and skill and I landed a job and managed a restaurant at Wimbledon. It was 880 metres long and I had approximately 50 staff for 2 weeks. I made such an impression that I was flown back the next year to do it again. I got to wangle myself to first and centre courts a few times and I saw Hewitt and Philippoussis play. So cool.”

Carolyn

“I made a New Year’s resolution in 2011 to run a half marathon but instead I spent the year battling post natal depression so I decided this year I would slay that demon. And then I ran two marathons back to back because I wanted to prove that I was truly capable and the first one wasn’t a fluke.”

Derrick

Derrick

“My Dad had a heart attack on his 60th birthday and I performed CPR on him until the paramedics arrived. I saved my Dad’s life. I’m pretty proud of that. Now he’s 82.”

Anny

Anny

“I got my PhD in performance art 3 months ago. I wrote my thesis on dance and dramaturgy.”

“Can I call you Doctor Dance?”

“Double D. I like that.”

“Take my picture, Mama. I’m up the tree. You better hurry.”

Brian

“I got arrested at the United Nations for carrying a concealed baton. I was also arrested at the at the U.S. Mint, and Chicago airport. I just didn’t feel very safe without it. I got released every time except in one place – Sydney Airport.”

George

George

“I started working in the 1960’s as a copy boy at the Sydney Morning Herald, then I became a compositor and then a linotype operator and then I went to Canada to continue working in media. 55 years later I’m still working and I’ve never had a benefit and barely any sick days. An interesting thing happened in 1968 when Bobby Kennedy was assassinated. I was in New York with my friend and someone said we put a bomb in St Patricks Cathedral, where the funeral was. We were stopped and questioned for 4 hours, they took our passports and everything. Eventually they let us go.”

Danielle

” I worry about what I’m going to become. I want to be the best I can be and balance everything. I play the role of mum and dad and just taking time out for myself is hard. How can I make others happy if I’m not happy myself?

Fantastic collection Danielle!! You find some interesting bods.
I sympathise with Jenny. Unless you have ridden a motorbike yourself, people don’t see them, or look for them. My riding instructor taught us to treat every driver, as if they have had an argument with whomever, are distracted and can’t see you. Claim your space, make yourself obvious, cos it will be you that comes off second best. Advice I always remember. Anyone driving a four wheel drive scares me even in a car…..just watch them park!! Dodgem cars comes to mind ha ha….
