January 1st, 2014 I set myself a challenge for the year.
I decided I was going to photograph 365 portraits in a year, ending on New Year’s Eve.
Today.
At the time I may have been tipsy, and I had no idea what an intensely difficult year I was about to endure. In fact, I didn’t think I was going to finish on time until about a month ago.
But I did finish.
Today.
I have decided to continue the project in some form, but I’m not sure yet what it will be…. but sure as shit won’t be 365.
To everyone who shared a story with me over the last year, I am humbled and inspired by you all. So much life has been lived, so many storied inhabit our hearts.
These few images here barely even scratch the surface of the people I met and shots I took, but they serve as a reminder of the people who made this project possible.
I opened the project with a selfie, so I thought it apt to close it with one also…. plus I’m a megalomaniac.

[…] When Portrait 365 finished I wanted to keep it going in some way, but I needed to take the pressure away from it. That daily grind was good in many ways because it forced me to keep going but in others it was a ball ache. […]
