Danielle Colley

I’m Danielle.

I’m a storyteller, a tv producer, a mother, a photographer, a dreamer and a lover of great food.

I live with my two kids and my cat named Mister Fluffy Pants, AKA The Jerk.

I really love eating, so cooking became a necessity for me and now it is part of my…..well, I’d like to say soul but it’s more like stomach.

This Sydney based personal and parenting blog is a lucky dip that alternates between food ideas and musings, so if you love one more than the other you never have too long to wait to be satisfied.

This community here, my blogging community, embraces all things human and we understand that life is not black and white but many wonderful shades of the rainbow, and we’re not afraid to show our human-ness. Our realness. We laugh, we cry, we drink wine and we laugh again. That’s why I’m here. For the reals.

I find it very easy to laugh at life, and myself. Life is absurd, and if you don’t roll with it, you’re just go crazy pushing the proverbial uphill.

I love being a mother. Something happened the day my son was born and my capacity for love grew through the roof. I never realised your heart could exist outside your body, but it does. Mine exist in the form of two children, D Man and Kiki.

I adore being a teller of stories, and sharing my truth. It’s not that different to yours, or even if it is, I’ll make you feel normal, whatever that feel like.

Without further ado, I welcome to you to the contents of my head…..and my pantry, via my Australian mummy blog.

I hope you enjoy the ride.

Feel free to let me know your thoughts. I’d love this to be an exchange and not purely voyeuristic on your behalf…..but if just you like to watch, please be my guest.

If you’d like to contact me you can catch me at [email protected]

If you would like to work with me, we can get acquainted here.

I love your description of your heart existing outside your body, I can remember not being able to comprehend how much room there was in that small organ. Love just fills you up!

Thank you for stopping by and liking my blog post Danielle, I am touched. Truly.
Ever since my early parenting days (late 80s – early 90s) back in Russia, I am not a big fan of cooking (to put it mildly) – there were no other options, I simply had to cook. Now I just do not have time to cook. But admire that cooking passion in others. I do.

Take a lot of pictures of everything and everyone, one day I will show you what you can do with them. When you are curious enough.

Hi Danielle, how times change! I remember our night at, I think it was the Thai Dicq Shack in Jersey, with Emerson and Rebecca. Good times..
Now I’m also a mother of two and since I stopped working after our second girl 7 months ago into cooking. So looking forward to trying out some of your recipes, as they look delicious! Any coming up with a Dutch influence 🙂 ?
